MSI laptop board repair
MSI's range runs from thin-and-light GS machines to desktop-replacement GT tanks, and the board work follows the spec sheet: the harder a machine is pushed, the more its electrical path matters. Charging circuits, power stages and liquid damage are the regulars. All repairable at component level, all at the same fixed price across the range.

What we fix on MSI boards
- No power: DC jack damage, charging circuits and rail faults
- GPU power-stage faults: the electrical version of crashing under load
- USB-C PD faults on the models that charge over USB-C
- Liquid damage: cleaned and rebuilt, including under the low-profile heatsink assemblies
- Boot and firmware faults: powered but no post
- Previous-repair damage from earlier bench visits
What to check before you post it
Two triages cover most MSI jobs: no power and shutdowns under load. On the thin GS machines, also consider heat history honestly. The fault may be solder that has cycled for years, which is measured at the bench rather than guessed at. Send the complete machine with the adapter the customer actually uses.
MSI questions
Which MSI ranges do you take?
GS, GE, GP and GT. Thin-and-light to desktop-replacement, all at the same fixed price.
It dies mid-game. Heat or power?
The tell is graceful shutdown with heat versus an instant black like a power cut. The thermal-shutdowns guide walks the fork; the bench measures power stages under load for the electrical version.
Do you fix USB-C charging faults on MSI models?
Yes. On the models that charge over USB-C, the port and its PD circuitry are repaired as one path at the fixed price.
How much does the repair cost?
£120 + VAT fixed (post both ways and a 12-month warranty included) or £180 + VAT in the priority slot. Diagnosis is £35 + VAT and is waived when the repair goes ahead.
