What we fix on MacBook Pro boards

The ports, the power controllers behind them, the charging IC, the backlight circuit and the GPU power stages are all board work, and all of it is exactly what this bench does, all day, for shops rather than the public.

What to check before you post it

Two guides exist for your bench-side triage: MacBook won't turn on (the no-power checklist and what a USB-C meter tells you) and MacBook not charging (port, charger or board, decided in ten minutes). Both exist to stop wasted postage in either direction.

What to send

The complete MacBook. No charger needed. It is tested against a real battery, ports and display before it goes back. Data stays on your ticket's photo record, and on soldered-storage Macs, fixing the board is usually how the customer's data comes back too. The machine boots, they back up, everyone breathes out.

MacBook Pro questions

Which MacBook Pros do you take?

All of them: Intel-era machines and every Apple Silicon generation. The complete machine comes in, and it is tested against a real battery, port and display before it goes back.

How much does MacBook Pro board repair cost?

£120 + VAT fixed (post both ways and a 12-month warranty included) or £180 + VAT in the priority slot. Diagnosis is £35 + VAT and is waived when the repair goes ahead.

Do you fix liquid damage on MacBook Pros?

Yes: corrosion cleaned, shorted components replaced and rails retested, at the same fixed price where the work fits. The first-hour advice is in the MacBook liquid damage guide.

What about the data on a dead MacBook Pro?

On soldered-storage Macs, repairing the board is usually how the data comes back. The machine boots and a backup happens. The 'data from a dead laptop' guide walks through the full playbook.
