Terms of business

These are the terms every Soldersector job runs on. They are written for trade customers — repair shops, resellers, IT companies and refurbishers — and they are meant to be read once, not deciphered. Ordered a job with us means you accept them.

Trade only

Soldersector sells to businesses, not to the public. By ordering, you confirm you are acting for a business. Consumer distance-selling and repair rights assume a consumer on the other side; our relationship is business-to-business, and these terms govern it.

Data

Payment

Invoices are raised on completion and are due within 14 days. If you are VAT registered, give us your number and it will appear on every invoice. Unpaid invoices may pause new work, and late payment may attract the interest and costs the law allows for commercial debts.

Risk, title and storage

Items are at your risk in transit and at our risk once checked in. If a job is declined or unreachable, we will agree return or disposal with you — nothing is disposed of without telling you first. Storage of held items is limited; we will contact you before it becomes a problem.

Warranty

Repairs carry a 12-month warranty on our work and the parts we fitted, with the cover and exclusions set out on the warranty page and nothing beyond them.

Liability

Our liability for any job is limited to the price you paid for that job, except where the law does not allow a limit — for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. We do not exclude or limit anything we are not permitted to exclude, and nothing in these terms affects your customers’ separate rights against you.

Changes and governing law

These terms may be updated on this page; the version at the time you ordered a job is the one that applies to it. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and so are any disputes arising from them.

Terms questions

Can I order as a member of the public?

No. Soldersector is trade-only, and ordering confirms you are acting for a business. If you are not trade, ask your repair shop to send the job to us.

When am I charged?

On completion: nothing is charged until a job is finished and tested. The VAT invoice is raised on your ticket then, and is due within 14 days.

What happens if a job cannot be repaired?

You get the diagnosis fee (£35 + VAT) and the item is returned; that fee is waived when a repair goes ahead. If a revised quote is needed for more work, you approve or decline it on your portal first.

Who is responsible for data on a device?

You are responsible for backups, and repairs are not a data-safety service. For data recovery we say up front that recovery is an attempt, not a certainty — and if it fails, there is no recovery fee.
