How trade accounts work
Soldersector is trade-only: every customer is a repair business, reseller, IT company or refurbisher. A trade account is free to open and takes a couple of minutes — after that, every job you send gets a ticket, a fixed price, photo evidence and a VAT invoice.
What an account gets you
- Fixed prices, published up front — the same list for everyone, no haggling and no surprise invoices.
- White-label work — we never contact your customer, and every photo and report comes to your portal for you to use as you like.
- Live tickets — every job updates as it moves, from intake to test, with messages in one place.
- VAT invoices from day one — raised on completion, with your VAT number on them where you have given us one.
- Pay on completion — nothing is charged until the job is finished and tested.
- Postage labels — inbound labels print from the portal with the addresses and the ticket QR code on them.
How a job flows
- Open a ticket for the job, before you post, so the bench knows it is coming.
- Print the label and parcel code, pack the item well, and post it tracked.
- The bench checks it in and photographs it as received.
- Diagnosis — if the fault differs from the ordered service, you get a revised quote on the portal to approve or decline before any paid work.
- Repair and test, with the ticket updating as it goes.
- Completion — the item is returned with tracking, and the VAT invoice is raised on the ticket.
What we need from you
- Your business details and a working email — that is where job updates and invoices go.
- Your postal address, so labels and returns go to the right place. You can update it any time under Your details.
- A ticket for each job. One ticket, one item — it keeps quotes, photos and invoices attached to the right thing.
Payment
Nothing is charged until a job is complete. When it is finished, a VAT invoice is raised on the ticket, and payment is taken or arranged at that point. If you are VAT registered, add your number to your account and it appears on every invoice for your own reclaim.
Trade account questions
Is there a fee or a minimum order for a trade account?
No. Opening an account is free and there is no minimum. You only pay for the jobs you send, and nothing is charged until a job is complete.
Can more than one person at my shop use the account?
Yes — the account belongs to the business. Job updates and invoices go to the account email, and anyone with the sign-in link can open and track tickets on the account.
Do you ever contact my customer?
No. Soldersector is white-label behind your bench: your customer deals with you, and photos and reports come to your portal for you to share as you choose.
How does payment work?
Nothing is charged until a job is complete and tested. When it is finished, a VAT invoice is raised on the ticket and payment is taken or arranged at that point. If you are VAT registered, your number appears on every invoice.
What do I need before posting?
A ticket for the job, and your postal address saved under Your details, so labels, returns and invoices all point at the right place.
