Repair warranty

Every board-level and micro-soldering repair we return carries a 12-month warranty on the repair work and the parts we fitted, starting the day the repaired item is posted back. This page says what that covers, what it does not, and how to claim in one message.

What the warranty covers

What it does not cover

Data recovery is different

Data recovery cannot carry a repair warranty: the work is an attempt to read what is already damaged, and a drive that fails again does so for its own reasons. What we do promise is honesty and the no-recovery-no-fee rule — if the data cannot be recovered, there is no recovery fee, and you only cover return postage if you want the media back.

How to claim

  1. Message on the original ticket — that is where the repair history lives.
  2. Describe what changed after the repair and anything that happened to the device since.
  3. Send it back tracked; we confirm warranty or quote before doing any work.

Where a claim is accepted we repair and return it at our cost. Where it is not, we say why, with photos, and quote for whatever repair is possible.

The legal note

This warranty sits alongside your rights under the terms of business, and nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude. Because Soldersector is trade-only, statutory consumer rights for repairs sold to members of the public do not apply — the terms you agree to when ordering are the ones on this site.

Warranty questions

How long is the repair warranty?

12 months on the repair work and the parts we fitted, starting when the repaired item is posted back to you.

What is not covered?

New damage such as drops, pressure, heat or liquid; liquid ingress that happened after the repair; work done by someone else since it left our bench; software and firmware problems; and cosmetic marks recorded in the intake photos. The full list is on the warranty page.

Does data recovery come with a warranty?

No — recovery is an attempt to read already-damaged media, so it cannot carry a repair warranty. The no-recovery-no-fee rule applies instead: if the data cannot be recovered, there is no recovery fee.

How do I claim?

Message on the original ticket describing what changed and anything that happened to the device since. Send it back tracked; we confirm warranty or quote before doing any work, and accepted claims are repaired and returned at our cost.
